What is between a carpet, a rug and a mat?
That question has led me as I designed a method to weave together synthetic textile and wood. The vibrant composition aims to compliment the vacation atmosphere of a hotel or a great back yard.
The materials are polypropylene straps and box tree rods. Each strap loops around the first rod, and is threaded through the last rod, locking the entire carpet together.
The process explored different textiles which fit into different places in our lives, as well as different compositions and layouts.
